SUMMARY

In a world set in a futuristic society, around the early 21st century , the replicants, who are artificial creatures that are virtually identical to human beings and created by the Tyrell Corporation, rise up against their human creators. They were originally created to do jobs that were too dangerous for humans. But once these replicants take over, they are banned from Earth, and that’s what the Blade Runners are created for, to destroy each one of them.

Rick Deckard is having lunch at a restaurant one day when Gaff shows up and approaches him to call him a Blade Runner. Gaff then takes Rick to the police station where, the inspertor, Bryant, accepts Rick as the new Blade Runner and tells him he has no choice but help, even if he doesn’t want to.

Bryant gets Deckard into his first mission, where he has to find four of the six replicants that had escaped from an off-world Colony. They are all physically perfect copies of human beings, except they don’t have any human emotions. The Tyrell Corporation’s genetic designers have programmed them to only have a 4-year lifespan before they develop any feelings.

Deckard starts doing his job when he meets Rachael, who works for Dr. Tyrell. Deckard runs a test on Rachael to prove she is a human being, but it turns out she is a replicant even though she didn’t know about it.

Deckard and Gaff start to investigate Leon Kowalski, one of the missing replicants. When Rick comes back home, he finds Rachael waiting for him. She tries to prove to him that she is a human by telling him about some memories and showing him some pictures of her childhood. But Rick lets her know that those are just implanted memories.

Deckard now focuses in looking for Zhora, another one of the replicants, and follows her through the streets until he kills her. Bryant then informs him that he has an additional target – Rachael, who has disappeared from Tyrell Corp. While he is looking for her, Kowalski attacks him, wanting to know how long he is going to live for. Just as Kowalski is about to poke Deckard’s eyes out, Rachael shoots him through the back of his head, killing him.

Back at Deckard’s apartment, Rachael asks him if he knows how long she is going to live for, concerned about it. She feels unsure about her feelings, because she knows they are not her own but still has clear feelings for Deckard. After she expressed that to him, they kiss.

Later on, Roy Batty, the leader of the replicants goes to see Dr. Tyrell along with J.F. Sebastian, where he ends up killing Dr. Tyrell after asking him for a longer live and getting the request rejected by the doctor.

Deckard later figures out both Tyrell and J.F. Sebastian have been found dead, and goes to Sebastian’s apartment in order to get some information. Pris, the third replicant, is in that same apartment, pretending to be a doll, but as soon as Deckard approaches her, she attacks him. However, he is able to shot her down. Wen Roy Batty walks into the apartment and finds Pris dead, he is devastated and lets Deckard know he is going to come for him. Roy Batty is about to kill Deckard after a long fight when he suddenly safes Deckard’s life. He then makes a speech about how all he has experienced will dissapear in time. And with that, he is gone, expired. All four of the replicants are destroyed at that moment. Right when Deckard thinks he is done, Gaff shows up and tells him it is a shame that Rachael will no longer live either.

However, back at home, Deckard finds Rachael still alive. Rachael tells him how much she loves him, to what he only responds by telling her she should trust him. They then both dissapear after Deckard picks up a shiny origami unicorn that reminds him of Gaff and takes it into an elevator alongside him and Rachel.
